Every environmental claim we make is independently verified, not self-declared. Certified Carbon Balanced Printer
At Ashley House, we take full responsibility for our environmental impact.
All of our operational carbon emissions are measured and offset in partnership with the World Land Trust, so the carbon generated through running our business, from energy use to day-to-day operations, is balanced through the protection and restoration of threatened habitats around the world.
Carbon Balanced Paper
The paper and board stocks we use are carbon balanced through our trusted supply chain partners, including the Woodland Trust, Forest Carbon and the World Land Trust. We can also add our own accreditations to your products; you can view the logos here.
These schemes support UK woodland creation and global forest protection, helping to remove carbon from the atmosphere while safeguarding biodiversity.
When you print with us, both our operations and your chosen stock actively contribute to verified carbon reduction and forest conservation.
We can also add recognised Carbon Balanced logos to eligible projects, so you can clearly communicate your environmental commitment to your own customers. For us this is a measurable, audited and ongoing commitment, not a marketing statement.

We build sustainability into every stage of our print process
Green Printing
Everything we print is produced sustainably with environmental protection in mind. As a Carbon Balanced Printer, we do everything we can to reduce our carbon footprint, while helping others to reduce theirs with our green printing options.
All our paper is sustainably sourced, using only FSC and recycled stocks, our lithographic printing presses use chemistry-free plates – the greenest available.
The use of these processes, combined with vegetable-based ink, means we produce chemistry-free, vegan-friendly print.
Plastic-Free Packaging
We are a plastic-free business and have eliminated the use of plastic packaging, wherever possible. We use non-plastic alternatives or biodegradable solutions, including 100% recyclable paper tape and corrugated card, recycled envelopes with cornstarch windows, eco-friendly shrink wrap and oxo-degradable pallet wrap.
We also encourage our suppliers to reduce their plastic packaging and find alternative packaging solutions to help raise awareness along the supply chain.

Zero Landfill Policy
We have a zero landfill policy and train our team on environmental issues, aiming to recycle and reuse, rather than create unnecessary waste. Any waste that is created is always recycled appropriately, including wastepaper, ink tins, used printing plates and wooden pallets.
100% Green Energy
We use 100% renewable energy from a green energy supplier and have installed low energy lighting throughout the factory to lower our energy consumption. By using power from renewable sources, there’s less harm to the environment when using our machines.
Reduced Carbon Delivery
We strategically plan all local deliveries to reduce mileage and transport pollution. For national deliveries, we use a zero-carbon delivery company who comply with carbon emissions standards.

World Land Trust
As a Carbon Balanced Printer, we are supporting the global conservation charity World Land Trust in their crucial efforts to protect and preserve threatened, carbon-rich habitats around the world, including ecosystem protection and restoration projects in Vietnam, Mexico, Ecuador and Guatemala.
The Woodland Trust
We work closely with The Woodland Trust, the UK’s largest woodland conservation charity and are the largest contributor to their Carbon Capture Scheme in the South West. We also volunteer our time to take part in the local tree planting events, helping to restore native woodland.
Forest Carbon
We purchase paper, cardboard and packaging materials from our suppliers. They offer carbon balanced products through their carbon offset scheme, supporting UK woodland creation, meaning everything we purchase helps plant more trees.
Surfers Against Sewage
We work with Surfers Against Sewage, one of the UK’s most active and successful environmental charities. As part of our support for the incredible work that they do we are members of the Ocean Network and regularly attend member events and beach cleans, with other eco-conscious businesses, helping to drive change and awareness.

Yes. We print on Heidelberg Speedmaster litho presses and the HP Indigo 7900 digital press, so eco-friendly print holds the same colour accuracy, detail and finish as conventional printing.
The sustainability comes from the materials and process, FSC® certified stocks, vegetable-based inks and chemistry-free plates, not from any trade-off in quality. The finished result is the same standard you would expect from any commercial printer, produced with a far lower environmental impact.

Vegetable-based ink is the most sustainable option. We only use eco-friendly ink, never harmful petroleum-based ones. Our inks are biodegradable, vegan-friendly, emit fewer volatile organic compounds, and deliver high-quality colour reproduction.
