Bespoke brochures tailored to your project
Brochure printing is not a one-size-fits-all. Every brochure is custom made, from a single copy to a full campaign.
Whether you have print-ready artwork or a rough idea, we will advise on the format, paper and binding that suit the audience and budget, then print it on our own presses.
When a project needs something distinctive for a special event, we can print custom shapes and sizes too.

Custom size brochure printing
Choosing a standard size helps keep costs down: A5, A4, A3 or a 210mm x 210mm square. For bespoke work we print from 90mm x 75mm up to 350mm x 304mm when folded.
If you are not sure which size will suit the content, send us the page count and how much information each page has to carry, and we will recommend a format that reads well and prints economically.
It also helps to choose the format early, so the design and the print work together.

Brochure Formats and Binding
Most brochures suit a cost-effective standard format, and the binding shapes how a brochure feels and how long it lasts.
From stapled bound to perfect bound brochures, we run all the main formats in our own bindery and match the method to the page count and the use.
The main formats we run:

Stapled (saddle stitched)
Two spine staples, a clean and economical way to present multi-page content. We saddle stitch up to around 80 pages, depending on paper weight.

Perfect bound
A squared, glued spine for a polished result on thicker documents. We run perfect binding (PUR) from 2mm to 50mm thick.

Fold-out and accordion
Panels or zig-zag folds, good for a step-by-step guide or a product story that unfolds.

Wiro bound
A wire spine so pages lie flat and turn easily, useful for reference documents and manuals.
Brochure design and print
You do not need finished artwork to start. If you have a print-ready PDF (crop marks, bleed, 300 dpi, CMYK), we will print it as supplied. If not, our in-house team can take on the brochure design for you, whether you have a full brief or just a cover design, and see it through to press.
We are a printer first, with graphic design consultancy when you need it, so design and production stay in step and nothing is lost in the handover.

Sustainable printing
We are passionate about the environment, and we print brochures that do not cost the Earth. We are a certified Carbon Balanced Printer through the World Land Trust, FSC® certified and ISO 14001 accredited, and a Sedex member. We run on 100% green energy with a zero landfill policy and plastic-free packaging.
Our brochures are printed on responsibly sourced, FSC® certified paper with vegetable-based inks and chemistry-free plates. Carbon balanced paper has been our standard since 2014, at no extra cost to you. Around 75% of the brochures we print are on uncoated stock, a capable and popular choice as well as a lower-impact one. Coated silk or gloss stock remains the traditional choice for image-led work, and both come in recycled options.

Litho or digital printing, matched to your order volume
We print brochures in two ways; the right one depends mainly on quantity. We print from a single copy, which most minimum-order printers will not do.
- Digital is the economical choice up to around 500 copies. We run it on an HP Indigo 7900, a digital offset press (liquid inks, not a laser), which holds sharp detail and consistent colour on short runs.
- Lithographic printing makes sense above that. We run litho on Heidelberg Speedmaster presses, which give the best value and colour consistency on longer runs. All our printing is sheet-fed.
Tell us the quantity and page count and we will recommend the method that gives the best result for the budget. More on each: digital printing and lithographic printing.

What a brochure costs to print
Every brochure is bespoke, so there is no single price. The biggest lever is quantity: the more you print, the lower the cost per copy. After that, cost turns on page count, format, paper, binding and finishing. You can keep the cost down without cutting quality:
- Print a larger quantity if you can, to bring the unit cost down.
- Design to a page count in multiples of four, so you are not paying for blank pages (each sheet folds to four).
- Choose a standard format and paper where the project allows.
- Supply print-ready files (PDF with crop marks, bleed, 300 dpi, CMYK).
- Allow a standard turnaround rather than a rush.
We are not the cheapest printer, and we do not try to be. However, we are good value for the quality and custom service we provide.

A Brochure for every sector
Marketing material invokes your customers to take action when they are tailored for the target audience, so we print to suit the field. We work across retail, hospitality, education, corporate, creative, manufacturing, print packaging and festive print, matching the format, stock and finish to each industry.
A longer publication may suit magazine printing, and shorter promotion material may suit our flyers and leaflets printing service.
If you not sure which one is right for your campaign our guide to the importance of brochures covers what they are best suited for. Alternatively give us a call on 01392 202320 and we will be happy to advise you.
