Foamex is a relatively low-cost option, with Dibond and acrylic costing more. However, they are more durable and last much longer outdoors. What are the most eco-friendly options for signs?

Aluminium in composite panels such as Dibond is widely recycled. It’s also worth considering the lifespan, for example, a two-week promotion doesn’t need to be printed on a board that lasts significantly longer. As a Carbon Balanced Printer through the World Land Trust, we will always advise the lower-impact route.

Are digital or printed signs better?

Digital signage means screens, and for content that changes often in one fixed spot it has its place. Printed signs typically cost less, need no power and work anywhere, which is why most businesses use print for identification, wayfinding and promotion. We print signs; we do not supply screens.

Sign Materials And What They Suit

There is no single best material for a custom printed sign. This is the range we print the most, and what each material suits best:

Dibond is an aluminium composite with a solid, premium feel, built for long-term outdoor use on building signs, fascias and wayfinding.
Foamex is a smooth, rigid PVC board and the all-rounder of the range, for shop and office signs, exhibitions and wall-mounted panels.
Acrylic gives a polished, modern finish for reception signs, plaques and interior branding.
Backlit panels are translucent prints for light boxes and illuminated displays.

Indoor And Office Signs

Reception signs, office signage and interior branding provide continuity throughout the building. We print wall graphics, posters, window graphics and stickers, and printed panels for meeting rooms, corridors and shared spaces.

We will advise on the right material for each space, so a reception sign, a meeting-room panel and a corridor graphic flow as one theme.

Outdoor And Building Signs

Exterior signs are exposed to the harsh weather and sunlight, so the material choice is even more important. For long-term outdoor use we usually recommend aluminium composite Dibond, with Foamex a lower-cost option for short-term site and event signs.

We print a wide range of signage and large format graphics, including building signs, fascia panels, hoardings, site boards, window graphics and shop signs.

All of our signage is produced in-house by our experienced large format printing team, giving us complete control over quality, colour and finishing from start to finish.
